Welcome to Triangle Elementary School!
TRIANGLE ELEMENTARY DESIGNATED 2014 SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

Our students have the distinction of attending a newly named PWCS School of Excellence. This is the 3rd consecutive year Triangle Elementary earned the coveted title.

School of Excellence is the highest recognition awarded to schools by the PWCS School Board. It signifies high levels of performance on state accreditation, Annual Measurable Objectives, and in moving toward the goals of the Division’s Strategic Plan.

Congratulations to everyone who helped to earn this important indicator of student success.

Our team was ranked #2 and made the finals where they competed for the title in front of the game crowd that evening.  They were crowned Tournament Champions after they outscored their opponents.  This team will travel to Louisville, KY to compete in the World Championships in April.

3rd and 4th Grade Students: 2015-2016 Robotics Club applications are available in the Computer Lab now. The deadline to return them is March 20th.  The new group will be announced the week before Spring Break.

RAZ KIDS READING PROGRAM
Triangle Elementary has subscribed to an online library of exciting reading materials. Raz-Kids helps students improve their reading skills as they listen to a book read for modeled fluency. Then, if the computer has a built-in record function, they can record themselves reading the same book. Or, students can read the book to themselves or aloud for practice. Interactive quizzes are available at the end of each book to check for understanding. It is not necessary for students to record themselves but if they have the capability that is always a great way to improve fluency.

Here is how to access the website and your child’s reading assignment from any computer connected to the Internet:

1. Go to www.raz-kids.com from your Internet browser and click the Log In tab .
2. Type in the teacher username and click  the green GO arrow.
3. Find your name on the chart and click on that.

The books in assigned to your child’s based on his or her independent reading level appear on his or her personal assignment page. Your child should choose to listen, read, and then take a quiz by clicking on the symbols below each book.
IXL MATH

Triangle Elementary is excited to provide all students with an IXL account. IXL is a comprehensive, SOL based math program that students can use at school AND at home! This is a wonderful way to support math instruction at home!!

Students can earn awards and parents can look at student progress reports. Please encourage your student to use IXL as often as possible. To access your account, go to Triangle’s homepage at  www.ixl.com/signin/triangle. There students can enter their username and password. If your learner is not sure of his/her login information please contact the homeroom teacher or Mrs. Adams at adamslj@pwcs.edu.
